Reference Text

Ice mephits are small, mischievous creatures from the Elemental Plane of Air, embodying the cold and bitter aspects of winter. They are formed from ice and snow, with fragile, crystalline bodies that crackle with frost. Their wings are delicate and translucent, like frozen mist, and they move with a skittering, erratic flight. Ice mephits delight in causing discomfort and chaos, often using their Frost Breath to chill unsuspecting travelers or their Fog Cloud to obscure paths and confuse prey. They are inherently malicious, taking pleasure in the suffering of others, and they serve more powerful elemental beings or evil masters with a mix of cowardice and spite. Despite their small size, they are dangerous in groups, using hit-and-run tactics and their explosive death bursts to harm those who defeat them. Their connection to the elemental planes makes them resilient to cold and poison, but vulnerable to fire, which can melt their icy forms. They communicate in Aquan and Auran, the languages of water and air, and often mock their victims in these tongues before attacking.
