Reference Text

Animated armor is a suit of plate armor given a semblance of life through magic. It is often created by wizards and other spellcasters to serve as a guardian or sentinel. The armor moves and fights as if worn by an invisible warrior, but it is an object animated by magic, not a living creature. It has no consciousness or will of its own, only the simple commands imparted by its creator. Animated armor is typically found in dungeons, castles, and other places where its creator wishes to protect something valuable. It stands motionless until a creature approaches, then it springs to life and attacks. The armor is immune to many conditions and damage types, making it a resilient guardian. It cannot speak or understand any language, and it has no need for food, air, or sleep. Its existence is tied to the magic that animates it; if that magic is dispelled, the armor becomes inert.
