Ledger's Quill

This feathered quill appears to be made from a wing of an unknown creature, glimmering faintly with a silver sheen. When used to write or sign contracts, the user gains advantage on Deception checks related to any agreements made using it. Furthermore, the quill can magically replicate the writing style of the user, providing a bonus to any Insight checks made to detect discrepancies in the writing.

However, using the Ledger's Quill comes at a price. After signing a contract with it, the user must succeed on a DC 13 Wisdom saving throw or become obsessed with the agreement, compelling the user to uphold the terms of the contract, even if it is against their better judgement. Failure to comply results in gaining one level of exhaustion and suffering guilt until the contract is fulfilled or voided through magical means. The quill cannot be discarded or destroyed until the terms of the contract are honored or broken through a legitimate negotiation.
