The Siren's Call

Setting: The Siren's Call is a campaign set in the bustling city of Saltmarsh, a hub of trade and piracy on the Sword Coast. Surrounded by the sea and shrouded in fog, Saltmarsh is home to a diverse population of sailors, merchants, and cutthroats. The city is ruled by a council of wealthy merchants, but the real power lies with the pirate lords who operate from the shadows.

Objectives: The adventurers are brought together by a shared goal: to take down the notorious pirate lord, Captain Barnabas Harrigan. Harrigan has been terrorizing the Sword Coast, raiding ships and towns with impunity. He has recently taken refuge in the treacherous ruins of Fort Morninglord, located on a remote island off the coast of Saltmarsh. The adventurers must gather a crew, acquire a ship, and set sail to confront Harrigan and his formidable crew.

Challenges and Encounters: Along the way, the adventurers will face numerous challenges and encounters, including:




  • Recruiting a Crew: The adventurers will need to assemble a crew of skilled sailors and fighters. This will require building relationships with the people of Saltmarsh and earning their trust. However, not everyone in Saltmarsh is trustworthy, and the adventurers may find themselves dealing with pirates, smugglers, and even members of the city watch.



  • Acquiring a Ship: The adventurers will need a ship to reach Fort Morninglord. This will require either purchasing or stealing a vessel. The adventurers may need to deal with unscrupulous ship owners, or even take on a pirate ship in a daring raid.



  • Navigating the Open Sea: The adventurers will need to navigate the treacherous waters of the Sword Coast. This will require knowledge of the sea and the ability to read the stars. The adventurers may encounter dangerous sea creatures, including krakens and sahuagin.



  • Exploring Fort Morninglord: Once the adventurers reach Fort Morninglord, they will need to explore its treacherous halls and chambers. The fort is guarded by Harrigan's formidable crew, including half-orcs, mercenaries, and even undead. The adventurers will need to use their skills and wits to overcome these foes and reach Harrigan.



Rewards and Consequences: If the adventurers are successful in taking down Harrigan, they will be hailed as heroes and receive a share of the loot from Fort Morninglord. They may also earn the respect of the people of Saltmarsh and the surrounding towns. However, if they fail, they will face the wrath of Harrigan and his crew. They may also find themselves hunted by the city watch and other pirate lords.

Enemies: The main enemies of this campaign are the pirate lord Captain Barnabas Harrigan and his crew. Harrigan is a ruthless and cunning pirate, feared by all who sail the Sword Coast. He commands a formidable crew, including half-orcs, mercenaries, and undead. The adventurers may also encounter other pirate lords, smugglers, and members of the city watch.
