Your draconic heritage sharpens your senses. You have darkvision out to 60 feet. You can see in dim light as if it were bright, and in darkness as if it were dim light. Colors are muted in darkness.

Draconic Ancestry
At character creation you choose a dragon ancestry from the Player's Handbook (Black, Blue, Brass, Bronze, Copper, Gold, Green, Red, Silver, or White). You gain resistance to that ancestry's damage type (for example, Red grants fire resistance). This choice also determines the damage type of your Elemental Foxfire breath weapon and influences certain subrace features.

Elemental Foxfire (Breath)
You can exhale a cone or line of elemental foxfire once per short or long rest. The damage type matches your chosen draconic ancestry. The breath weapon is a 15-foot cone (or 30-foot line, your choice when you gain the trait) and deals 2d6 damage on a failed Dexterity saving throw, or half as much on a successful one. The save DC is 8 + your proficiency bonus + your Charisma modifier. At 6th level the damage increases to 3d6, at 11th level to 4d6, and at 16th level to 5d6.

Vulpine Shapechanger
As an action you can assume the form of a Tiny fox or return to your true form. While in fox form your statistics are unchanged, but you cannot attack, cast spells, or use your Elemental Foxfire. Your equipment does not change form and remains where it was when you shifted (it may be left behind). You remain in fox form until you use an action to revert, you fall unconscious, or you die. While in fox form you gain advantage on Dexterity (Stealth) checks made to hide in natural terrain and you can slip through any space large enough for a Tiny creature. There is no strict per-day limit on shifting; however, physical exertion or damage may force a reversion at the DM's discretion.

Nine-Tail Legacy
You possess innate spellcasting tied to your Nine-Tailed blood. Charisma is your spellcasting ability for these spells. You know the Dancing Lights cantrip and can cast it at will. At 3rd character level you learn Charm Person and can cast it once per long rest. At 5th level you learn Invisibility and can cast it once per long rest. When you cast Charm Person or Invisibility using this trait, you do so without requiring material components. The spell save DC for your innate spells is 8 + your proficiency bonus + your Charisma modifier.
Usage: Dancing Lights at will; Charm Person once per long rest (gains at 3rd level); Invisibility once per long rest (gains at 5th level)
Vulpine Cunning
You have proficiency in the Deception and Stealth skills, representing your foxlike ability to mislead and slip away. If you already have proficiency in one or both, you gain expertise (double proficiency) in one of them of your choice.

Tongues of Ancestry
You speak Common, Draconic, and Sylvan. You also understand Vulpine yips and vocal cues—an instinctive, limited set of emotions and warnings—but you cannot convey complex ideas through Vulpine vocalizations alone.
