However, the quill carries an insidious curse: after each hour of inspired use, the user must succeed on a DC 13 Wisdom saving throw or become obsessed with their work, gaining disadvantage on any task that takes them away from it, including combat. Victor Potemkinova, a bard with a penchant for thievery, acquired this quill after outsmarting a rival artist in a contest of wit, who was unaware the quill was cursed.
