Cursed Scythe of Dread

This blackened scythe seems to absorb the light around it, its blade continuously dripping with a viscous, shadowy liquid. When wielded, the Cursed Scythe of Dread grants a +1 bonus to attack and damage rolls. On a successful hit, the target must succeed on a DC 13 Constitution saving throw or take an additional 1d6 necrotic damage and have their maximum hit points reduced by that same amount until they finish a long rest. However, the scythe emits an unsettling aura that causes the wielder to feel a deep sense of dread, imposing disadvantage on saving throws against fear effects and causing 1d4 psychic damage to the wielder each time they use it to successfully attack a creature. It is believed that Harewrath used this scythe to harvest the souls of the living, infusing it with dark energy during his tragic fall into undeath.
