While wearing the Cursed Signet of the Forgotten Order, the wearer gains advantage on Intelligence (Arcana) checks related to undead creatures and can cast Animate Dead once per day without expending a spell slot. However, each use of the ring's power drains a bit of the wearer's life force; the wearer must succeed on a DC 13 Constitution saving throw or suffer one level of exhaustion. The ring also emits a faint necrotic aura, attracting the attention of malevolent undead within a 300-foot radius, who feel a kinship with its power.
