Overview

In the coastal realm of Eldershore, a rare lunar eclipse thins the Veil between sea and shore. The sunken city Aurelia’s Hold stirs, and old powers rise with the tide. The party must recover three Sigils—Current, Echoes, and Tides—and return them to a hidden temple to reseal the Veil before the Tide Gate opens and floodwaters swallow the coast. A rival faction, the Coral Syndicate, schemes to bend the sea to their will, turning every harbor into a battleground.

Setting

Starting in Brinewatch, a weather-beaten port, adventurers push through wreck-strewn streets, kelp-fringed markets, and treacherous currents. They will explore the Sunken Market beneath the harbor, navigate Crestfall Reef’s labyrinth of coral and rift, and descend into Aurelia’s Hold, the drowned city whose grand palace still leans beneath the waves. Political intrigue among fishing clans, merrow enforcers, and smugglers adds pressure as time runs out.

The Quest

Main goal: collect the three Sigils and perform the binding ritual at the sunken temple during the eclipse. Each Sigil lies behind environmental challenges, puzzles, and guardians tied to sea-storms, reefs, and ancient wards. The final act pits the party against the Syndicate’s emissaries and a waking sea-spirit that can drown a city in minutes.

Side Quest

A Harbor-Warden’s daughter vanished near Crestfall Reef while investigating a smuggler ring. Following clues leads to hidden tunnels and a cache of Sigil fragments, revealing Coral Syndicate plans to weaponize tidal maelstroms and forcing the party to choose between a risky alliance or a brutal confrontation.

Central Events & Triggers

The eclipse triggers rising tides, magnetic storms, and whispered prophecies from sea-borne entities. If Sigils are delayed, Aurelia’s Hold tears open into a chasm; if secured, the ritual seals the Veil, calming the waves and earning the party enduring respect from Eldershore’s sea-adjacent factions.

Hooks & Challenges

Dreams from a sea-worn oracle, a shell-engraved map, a tavern-urchin who claims to hear the ocean, and a driftwood effigy that points toward Sigils. Challenges include underwater exploration, pressure hazards, current-riddles, merfolk diplomacy, and timed escapes from collapsing reefs.

Rewards & Outcomes

Sigils grant attunement to sea-magic (Water Breathing for 1 hour, enhanced control of tidal effects, and situational bonuses at sea). Treasure includes Tidecaller's Cloak, a Trident of the Depths, and the Glimmering Shell Amulet. Success reshapes Eldershore’s future: prosperity for coastal communities, or ruthless maritime dominance for those who seize power.
