Setting

Gull's Rest sits on a jagged cliff above a harbor that never sleeps. Fog crawls like slow hands and the lighthouse pulses with a human sigh. The dead whisper through salt-cracked windows; dreams drift ashore with the tide.

Hook

The adventurers are hired by the reluctant mayor after vanishings and a choir of whispers climbing through locked doors. A lighthouse keeper's child speaks of a song that makes minds slide and sleep no longer safe.

The Main Quest

Three Sigils of the Deep must be found and reassembled to seal away a waking elder beneath the sea. The Sigils reside in a drowned library, a submerged cathedral, and a coral-locked vault within the Wreathed Maelstrom. The party must decipher ancient languages, endure trials of fear, and perform a sealing rite during a rare celestial alignment to collapse the waking portal.

Side Quest

Investigate the missing lighthouse keeper by tracing a trail of dream-ink through a maze of dream-architecture—the Dream Vault. This yields a relic Lullaby Lens granting limited sight into deceptions and a crucial clue to the main ritual.

Central Events & Triggers

Whispers rise as the stars shift. The veil weakens; reality frays. When the tide aligns, Gull's Rest may become a seam of two worlds. The party faces zealous cultists, blind guardians, and a creeping creature in the ruins. Failure invites a dawn where memory bleeds away with the sea; success buys a fragile dawn and a world forever altered.

Challenges & Setting

Expect Wisdom saves, fear effects, underwater exploration, mind-warping dreamscapes, and puzzles carved in salt-script. Encounters include aberrations, hostile cults, and occasional allies from the sea—merfolk, sympathetic shipwrecks, or a repentant cultist who knows old rites.

Rewards

Eldritch relics: a Sea-woven Cloak granting water-breathing and swim speed; a Sigil of Quiet that mutes whispers in safe havens; and a Tome of Forbidden Language that unlocks powerful but dangerous spells. A lasting bond with the sea yields navigation and survival advantages, plus unique visions of future tides.
