Crestview High: Echoes in the Hallways

Overview

In the mid-sized town of Greyhaven, Crestview High sits atop half-forgotten legends. Four teens—each part of a different school club—discover a hidden archive beneath the old library that leaks memories into the present. A vanished alumnus, calling himself the Archivist, tried to preserve the past by weaving it into a ritual called the Loom of Remembrance. The ritual backfired, leaving a portal that feeds on memories and threatens to erase the students’ future. The four must cooperate, balancing teenage life with real peril, to stop the Loom and seal the rift.

The Four Protagonists (playable concepts)

• Aiko (Gnome Artificer/Tinker): tech-minded, excels at gadgets and puzzle-solving.


• Maya (Human Bard): charismatic, uses performance and charm to influence minds and crowds.


• Dex (Half-Elf Rogue): agile, excels at scouting, deciphering clues, and stealth.


• Theo (Dragonprint Cleric/Student Monk): grounded, offers healing, courage, and a steady hand in crises.

The Main Quest

Form a plan to close the Loom of Remembrance. To do so, the party must recover four Echo Sigils—memory, courage, truth, and friendship—hidden in four campus zones. Each sigil is guarded by a trial that reflects the teen’s fears and insecurities. With all sigils collected, they perform a Memory Rite in the locked-down Auditorium during Founders’ Night to seal the rift and banish the Hollow Mentor from Greyhaven’s present.

• The Sub-basement of the Science Wing: a vault containing the third and fourth sigils, with puzzles tied to gravity and light.

• The Lost Yearbook: missing pages reveal a past incident that mirrors the Loom, offering hints and social consequences.


• A Favorite Teacher’s Secret: a mentor NPC seeks help to recover memories they’ve forgotten, pulling them into the party’s vendetta.


• The Prank War’s Ghost: a playful spirit that can aid or hinder depending on how players handle school drama.

Campaign Arcs and Triggers

Sessions start with school-life intersections (tests, clubs, friendships) that bleed into magical threats. Progress hinges on teamwork and empathy as much as combat. The final ritual requires not only power but alignment with the values of memory and forgiveness.

Rewards and Progression

Characters gain Echo Bonds with each sigil, granting temporary abilities and stat boosts. Unique items include the Echo Binder (a spellbook that stores one daily spell slot), the Lantern of Remembering (reveals hidden truths), and the Medal of Unity (boosts morale and teamwork checks). The tone stays adventurous, hopeful, and appropriate for teen protagonists, emphasizing courage, friendship, and coming-of-age themes.
