The task is not dour or grim; it’s a flowing, character-driven adventure with puzzles, social moments, and light danger.

The Main Quest

Restore the Heartstone Lantern’s light by completing three light-based tasks that re-balance the valley’s magic. First, fix the prism lens at the Glassworks of Eldershade to sharpen the lantern’s focus. Second, recalibrate the season-wheel in the Clocktower’s Weather Sluice to realign the coming of spring. Third, coax the Wind’s tune from the Lake of Lullabies by guiding a friendly merfolk choir to retrieve a lost musical score from the water. These tasks are solved through a mix of clever thinking, diplomacy with helpful NPCs, and collaborative problem solving rather than brute force. When the tasks are done and Zephyra’s mischief is soothed, a short, celebratory ceremony in the square rekindles the lantern and lights the festival for all to enjoy.

Side Quest to Investigate (Optional)

The Laughing Fog Mystery: a playful, non-lethal mystery that offers flavor and discovery. A curious fog trails the party toward Zephyra’s Grove. Following it reveals a small glade where wind spirits plead for balance. Solving light puns, listening to rumors, and returning a wayward breeze to its proper channel reveals Zephyra’s accidental misdirection and earns the party a temporary alliance with the fey of the valley.
