Overview

The Eternal Winter grips the realm as Caelithar, an ice god, stirs from a sealed prison. Storms lash coastlines, crops fail, and towns seal gates against the cold. This 4-5 player campaign is designed for characters of levels 3-8, balancing exploration, diplomacy, and tactical combat in a harsh, ice-choked world.

Setting

Glacia is a land of fjords, pine forests, ruined monasteries, and drifted ships. The winter solstice now marks a harsher season cycle. Factions contend for warmth: frost wardens who honor the old gods, sun scholars who seek to restore heat, and caravaneers who bribe, barter, and brave the ice.

The Main Quest

The party must locate four anchors that can rebalance Caelithar’s power and close the rift feeding the eternal winter. They will recover Emberheart, Radiant Lens, Iron Key, and Crown of Stillness, then unite them at the Summit of Stillness. The choice at the summit will either rebind the god, spread a controlled winter, or restore a true seasonal balance.

Anchors

• Emberheart Medallion: hidden in a volcanic cavern, guarded by a flame guardian.


• Radiant Lens: a sun-forged crystal in a submerged temple, tested by water spirits.


• Iron Key of the Gate: hidden in the Shattered Citadel, a drifting ruin.


• Crown of Stillness: buried in the Tomb beneath the Crowned Spire, guarded by wardens of memory.

Hooks and Side Quests

A frost-scarred village pleads for warmth; a scholar predicts misaligned solstice cycles; a caravan leader risks treason to secure supplies. Side quests reveal loyalties, recover ancient rites, and grant boons that ease the main quest.

Endgame and Rewards

Face Caelithar in the throne room above the world. Rewards include gear that resists cold, weapons that channel warmth, and a legendary blessing that tunes the climate once per season. The arc rewards bold exploration, nuanced diplomacy, and nerve-wracking battles against ice-born horrors.
