Four friends—A human fighter, an elf wizard, a halfling rogue, and a cleric of a fading deity—were childhood companions who drifted apart and reunite in Brinewatch, a salt-slick harbor. A dying scholar entrusts them with a map and a warning: a celestial alignment awakens an ancient rift, and the Harbingers cult plans to pour chaos through it. Only the Bond of Four, the oath that once kept their town safe, can seal the rift by gathering the Echo Stone shards and performing a ritual at the ruined Temple of Four Winds.

Main quest: Journey through Mistbound Realms to recover four Echo Stone shards: from a haunted lighthouse in the Screaming Coast, a dragon-guarded grove in the Verdant Spires, a sunken archive beneath Lake Lorga, and a sky-ruin on the Isles of Nacre. Each shard tests a different strength of the party and unlocks a facet of their Bond, culminating in a ritual that binds magic to friendship and fends off the Harbingers.

Side quest: The Missing Cartographer. A caravan mapmaker vanished near Brinewatch. The party follows clues through a fortress and into the cult’s funding network, freeing prisoners and earning a precious ally or artifact as a reward.

Setting and challenges: frontiers, storms, shifting isles, cryptic guardians, and moral tests—the Bond can waver if trust is broken, altering negotiations, skill checks, or even the ritual’s success.

Rewards: echoes of power that improve teamwork—temporary stat boosts tied to each shard, a class-specific magic item, and a lasting boon: advantage on group checks and a once-per-session reroll when acting in concert.

Main objectives: collect Echo Stone shards, perform the binding ritual, defeat the Harbingers, and restore balance to the Mistbound Realms.
