Overview

A beginner-friendly D&D 5e campaign about reclaiming a rightful throne and healing a fractured realm. Designed for 3–5 players from levels 1–5, it emphasizes exploration, social interaction, and approachable combat. It focuses on teamwork and clear milestones to help new players feel confident.

Setting

The Verdant Realms lie between sea and forest. After a quiet coup, a regent rules a divided kingdom. Three regions matter: Glintport on the coast, the Mooncrest Highlands, and the Verdant Woods. The Crown of Kingsfall, symbol of rightful rule, lies shattered into three relic keys guarded by humble wardens.

Main Quest

Find the Crown's Three Keys: Courage in the Caverns of Echoing Light, Wisdom in the Scholarium of Glass, Mercy in the Temple of Hollowed Moon. Unite wary factions, learn the history of kingship, and defeat a calculating usurper who manipulates politics as deftly as he wields a blade.

Side Quests

A local bard seeks legends of the last true king; a caravan needs protection through bandit lanes; a haunted lighthouse reveals clues to the crown's power when the sea is calm.

Hooks

A courier's torn letter points to Glintport; an elder librarian guards a half-burned chronicle; townsfolk whisper that the coronation will seal a long-forgotten oath.

Adventure Arc

Act 1: gather allies and secure the first key. Act 2: retrieve the Key of Wisdom. Act 3: earn the Key of Mercy and win consent from forest clans. Final act: interrupt the coronation and restore the crown, choosing mercy or justice in the realm's future.

Challenges & Rewards

Combat is beginner-friendly with plenty of social checks and exploration. Rewards include minor magic items (Cloak of Quiet Steps, Boots of Safe Passage, Amulet of Peace) and growing renown, plus a sense of shared victory and throne-bearing responsibility.
