Overview

The party is whisked away—either hired or kidnapped by a fancy carriage—to serve as Honored Guests of Chaos at Baron Alistair von Bedazzle's annual solstice gala. The Baron is a flamboyant immortal Cloud Giant who craves drama and is chronically bored.

Setting

Baron von Bedazzle's floating palace glides over a prism lake. The gala gathers the multiverse's most eligible, eccentric monsters. The palace is defended by Sentient Logic Gates - doors that will not open unless flattered or confounded.

The Gates

Gates require a flavor of appeal: compliments, cunning misdirection, or solving a riddle. Failures summon mischief or warding; success grants passage, favors, or cryptic clues.

Main Quest

Survive the gala and reach the Baron's private sanctum to learn why he hosts chaos: immortality, boredom, and a shadow pact with a nameless patron. Decide whether to feed the boredom, break the pact, or steal the Star Relic to change the rules.

Side Quest

A rumor tells of a missing Solstice Star relic powering the gates. Investigate guests and staff to uncover a saboteur with plans to topple the Baron.

Structure & Rewards

Act I: Enter, assess gates, mingle with guests. Act II: gather clues and locate the Star. Act III: confront the Baron and choose a path: reshape the palace, free the guests, or escape with new power. Rewards include mood-changing trinkets, gates' boons, and a possible title of Friend of Chaos or a capacity to pilot part of the palace's magic.

Hooks

A gilded invitation, a carriage's flourish, or a whispered wager that the Baron's boredom endangers worlds. When the Solstice storm hits, the gates falter—and fate depends on diplomacy, deception, and daring.
