An omen-dark solar eclipse nears Greyspire, the capital, and a long-buried rite beneath its peaks stirs. The Waking Night, a winter-demon sealed in ice ages ago, creeps toward freedom. If the rite completes, famine, plague, and endless cold will swallow the realm.

Main quest: recover five Sigils, each hidden in a distinct realm, and return them to the altar beneath Greyspire to reforger the Iron Crown. The Sigils lie at Sunring in Solace Bay, Emberdepth in the Obsidian Spine, Skyhold on Stormcrest, Verdant Hollow within Whisperwood, and Frostgate in Frostwatch. Only by uniting these relics can the wards hold against the coming dark. The party must navigate court intrigue among Houses Verin, Durn, Kestrel, Moor, and Ironhand, survive trials, and earn their favor without sparking open war.

Side quest: uncover the Harrowed Masks, a covert network that sows discord and theft to topple rulers from within. Tracing their agents unlocks uneasy alliances, exposes a traitor in a dying king’s circle, and win a crucial ally at a decisive moment.

Central events and triggers: the eclipse, prophetic omens, and a dragon’s shadow hint treachery behind the rite. As rites begin, the party races through haunted ruins, treacherous passways, and political maneuvering to prevent the ritual’s completion and the Waking Night’s release. The final confrontation pits the party against a fallen Maester who would chain Valaris to eternal winter and seize the crown for himself.
