Overview

Awaken after a blimp crash with your memories stripped away. You are the sole survivors, adrift in a world that immediately accuses you of treachery. Your first steps take you to the nearby kingdom of Kaelmere, where rumors point to a tribe—the Embermark—whose weapons supply may have ignited a regional war.

Setting

Kaelmere is a kingdom perched between ash-plains and steely seas, ruled by a calculating king, a perspicacious queen, and a royal jester who wields influence behind velvet curtains. The Embermark Tribe hides in the Mistclan Hills, ruthless in warfare but bound by ancient treaties. The crash site lies in a scorched valley, a theater of whispers where criminals and spies sniff at you as the memory-void deepens.

The Core Quest

Your objective is twofold: 1) travel to the Embermark tribe and destroy their weapons supply to stall incipient war; 2) uncover the truth of your past. Clues appear as scar-like tattoos burned from your forearms, revealing a symbol you cannot recall. Infiltration, diplomacy, and battle will uncover fragmentary memories and the ship’s cargo manifest—proof of a covert strike force operating under the royal jester’s orders.

Side Quests & Clues

  • Investigate the thorny criminal network that knows you without knowing you, pulling strings toward a royal conspiracy.

  • Rescue or bargain with displaced villagers who know rumors about the “ship’s true mission.”

  • Collect memory shards from the wreckage and from scattered witnesses to piece together who you were and why the jester fears your return.



Central Events & Triggers

  • Destroying the Embermark weapons haul delays war but awakens a larger conspiracy: the jester’s role in manipulating the king.

  • A reveal scene in the throne room exposes the party as a hidden strike force—loyal to the jester, engineered to seed chaos from behind the crown.

  • The clock runs down as war bells ring; the party must race back to Kaelmere before the king declares war.
