Setting & Tone

The setting sits between Strixhaven-style wizardry and Monster High styling: glamorous, competitive, and relentlessly orderly. You navigate a world that wants you to be heroes, yet eagerly polices every twitch of your monstrous heritage. The central question is not merely what you can do, but who you are, when your very existence tests the school’s creed of order over chaos.

Dark Inheritance

Each PC selects a Slasher-based Dark Inheritance that shapes your power, your Boon, and your Bane. Boons unlock dangerous capabilities or rituals tied to your lineage, while Banes force roleplay constraints and high-stakes choices. The DM uses Banes to trigger tense moral tests during exams, social events, or detention nights, pushing you to weigh loyalty to friends, self-preservation, and the truth of the fragile truce between monstrous legacies and the academy.

Main Quest & Stakes

Your primary objective is to survive finals, avoid Detention in the dreaded dungeons, and, ideally, avoid murdering the valedictorian who embodies the academy’s ideal hero. Yet a deeper plot threads through the halls: the truce that keeps monsters contained is fraying. Whispers speak of a conspiracy to fracture the peace, a plan that could redraw who is allowed to call themselves a protector of the realm. Your choices determine not just your own fate, but the fate of the school and your monstrous kin.

• Arc 1: Orientation and initiation. Pick your Slasher, claim your place, and learn to balance power with restraint.
