The Shattered Crown of the Frozen Wastes

Objectives


  • Retrieve the shattered pieces of the Frost King's Crown.

  • Stop the Frost King's resurrection.

  • Prevent the eternal winter from consuming the realm.



Setting

In the heart of the frozen wastes, a once prosperous kingdom lies in ruins. The Frost King, a powerful and evil being, was overthrown by a group of heroes. However, in his last moments, the Frost King's crown was shattered into five pieces and scattered across the realm.

Now, years later, the Frost King's loyal followers, the Frostwalkers, seek to gather the pieces and resurrect their fallen master. The eternal winter has begun to consume the realm, and the once lush lands are now barren and desolate.

The adventurers start in the small settlement of Icehaven, the last bastion of hope in the frozen wastes. Icehaven is located on the outskirts of the wastes and is the only place where the eternal winter has not yet reached.

Challenges and Encounters

The Frostwalkers

The Frostwalkers are the main antagonists of this campaign. They are powerful undead creatures, remnants of the Frost King's army. They are led by the Frostwalker King, a powerful and cunning being, who seeks to resurrect the Frost King and plunge the realm into eternal winter.

The Frost King's Crown

The Frost King's crown is shattered into five pieces. Each piece is guarded by a powerful being or creature, who was granted a boon by the Frost King in return for protecting a piece of the crown.

  • The first piece is guarded by a White Dragon in the Dragon's Spire.

  • The second piece is guarded by a Gorgon in the Labyrinth of the Lost.

  • The third piece is guarded by a Frost Giant Jarl in the Frost Giant's Keep.

  • The fourth piece is guarded by a Necromancer in the Tower of the Damned.

  • The fifth piece is guarded by the Frostwalker King himself in the Frost King's Tomb.



Other Challenges

  • The eternal winter: The adventurers will have to face the harsh conditions of the frozen wastes.

  • Other contenders: Other groups seek the power of the Frost King's crown.

  • Personal stakes: The adventurers might have a personal stake in this quest. A loved one might have been kidnapped by the Frostwalkers.



Rewards and Consequences

Rewards

  • The power of the Frost King's crown: Each piece of the crown grants a powerful boon.

  • The gratitude of the realm: If the adventurers succeed, they will be hailed as heroes.

  • Treasures: Each location guarding a piece of the crown hides treasures.



Consequences

  • The eternal winter: If the adventurers fail, the eternal winter will consume the realm.

  • The resurrection of the Frost King: If the Frostwalkers succeed, the Frost King will return and plunge the realm into eternal winter.
